Professional liability insurance
Professional liability insurance covers the commercial liability for damage caused by a defective professional service. Many professions are obliged to take out this insurance by law.
The insurance covers:
- harm caused to the aggrieved party by injury to health or death
- damage incurred by the aggrieved party due to the destruction, damage or missing of a tangible object which the aggrieved party owns or legitimately uses
- damage incurred by the aggrieved party due to an injured, killed or missing animal which the injured owns or legitimately uses
and associated:
- compensation for health care costs incurred by a health insurance company
- recourse compensation for sickness benefits paid by the sickness insurance authority
- compensation for the mental suffering of the spouse, parent, child or another person closely related to the aggrieved party
- subsequent financial loss
- net financial loss
