Commercial insurance companies will again be allowed to offer Comprehensive Health Insurance for Foreigners

On 23 August 2022, the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic approved an amendment to Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the residence of foreigners in the Czech Republic. This move abolished the controversial monopoly of the PHP, which had been in place since 2021. We expect this change in the law to be effective during September after the President's signature.

Among other things, the amended law very significantly increases the minimum limit of insurance coverage, which will now be set at EUR 400,000.
